Kenai river sockeye salmon fishing
The 2nd run Kenai river Sockeye salmon are starting to show up in good numbers. Today we saw lots of fish moving through and look to see even more in the next couple of days.
This is one of the Sockeye salmon we caught today out of the Kenai River. A long leader with just enough weight to bounce along the bottom will get you hooked up on one of these hard fighting fish.
While out on the river don’t forget to take a minute to see what is passing you by. This common merganser was out teaching her little ones how to fish when they came by.
Sockeye Salmon fishing will continue through the middle of Aug. so it is not to late to get your seat on the boat to chase these great fighting fish.
