Fly Fishing for King Salmon? You bet!
We like to haunt a few remote streams with the fly rod as our tool of choice. We use 10wt fly rods with sinking and floating lines while we search for these big, powerful fish. The Kenai River offers opportunities with a fly rod but our success is much better on a few other streams in the area.

What size fish will we realistically catch?
The typical King Salmon weighs between 20 and 50 pounds on the Kenai Peninsula. The Kenai River produces the largest King Salmon in the world! Other streams in the area typically produce fish slightly smaller.

When should I come?
The first King Salmon show up on the Kasilof and Kenai Rivers in early May. King Salmon continue to migrate through these rivers through July. We begin King Salmon Guide Trips in early May. June and July typically find the rivers full of fresh, hard fighting Kings.

How much does a guide trip cost? $250 per person

Your guide will provide: Rods, Reels, Terminal Tackle, Flies/ Lures and other tackle/ equipment needed for the planned days fishing.

What do you need to bring? Fishing License (with King Salmon Stamp), raincoat, gloves, camera, sunglasses, signed guide agreement and any rods of your own you would like to use (we have plenty for your trip so this is purely optional).

Let us do the guiding while you play (fish) hard! At this time of the year, since we have 24 hours of daylight, the morning bite is often off the hook! The typical day starts early in the morning and, depending on angler success, ends late in the evening. We will work very hard to get you a few cool pictures with an awesome fish or two. This is sure to be a trip to remember!

King Salmon season is popular here on the Kenai Peninsula so as soon as you know your schedule, give us a call to book your trip. 907-283-6808
