The lower part of the river is usually the first to hit with the king salmon dropping eggs near the first of August. As the spawn progesses we, like the trout, move up the river. Starting about the middle to end of August, the sockeye salmon start to drop their eggs. This takes away from the king spawn and the fish start keying in on the sockeye spawn. Like anywhere trout exist, when they are keyed in on a food source you will only do well if you present what they want. Welcome to Alaska match the hatch fly fishing. We do our best to put your fishing trip right in the middle of where this is happening. These trips take you through some of the most beautiful scenery available on the Kenai Peninsula. |
